y'know, the fact that Ash is at the point where an ELITE FOUR MEMBER knows who he is beforehand and is actively preparing for him really helps to sell how far he's come.

I missed Citron and Eureka and this episode just showed how memorable they are, Eureka instantly cuddling a new pokemon she sees and Citron bringing out another new invention to help out Ash. I don't know about you, but I still think Citron had the best character development out of all Ash's companions, going to great lenghts to become a worthy gym leader and still seeking out his passion as inventor. And oh gosh Ash's Dragonite hugging Citron and not letting him go was so darn adorable. Too bad they didn't include the scene where Dragonite and Eureka hug each other, it would be the most wholesome thing ever.
It is always interesting to see pokemon actually learning new moves through training and not just "oh the pokemon suddenly knows how to do that" like when Ash's Pikachu was training on how to do Iron Tail and Staraptor Brave Bird. Sirfetch'd was truly op with that move and I can't wait to see it in the battle. From the looks of it we will be finally seeing mega Altaria too! It was only shown briefly a couple of times so far, but this time it will be full blown battle! Can't wait!
